1. Welcome to KurlyTails 🐾

We're passionate about your dog's happiness, health, and how they look. Before your visit, we need you to review and agree to the following terms. By completing your booking you're confirming you've read and accept these conditions.

2. Your Representation

You confirm you are the legal owner or authorized agent of the pet listed. You represent that:

• Your pet has no undisclosed illness, injury, or behavioral problems
• All information provided is accurate and up to date
• Your pet has never been designated a dangerous or vicious animal
• You have not misrepresented your pet's breed
• You will pay all fees in full, including any emergency veterinary costs
• Your pet has not been exposed to any contagious disease within 30 days

3. Grooming Risks

While every precaution will be taken, grooming involves inherent risks. These may include skin irritation, nicks or abrasions, stress reactions, and the exposure of pre-existing conditions. Senior pets (age 7+) and pets with known health conditions carry elevated risk. KurlyTails shall not be held liable for injuries, illness, or adverse reactions arising from services performed professionally and reasonably.

4. Matted Coats

Severely matted coats present elevated risks and may require a complete shave-down. Aftereffects can include itchiness, redness, behavioral changes, or incomplete coat regrowth. A de-matting surcharge may apply. KurlyTails is not liable for these outcomes.

5. Double-Coated Breeds

We do not recommend shaving double-coated breeds unless medically necessary. Complications may include altered coat texture, patchy regrowth, and increased vulnerability to the elements. If you request a shave-down, you release KurlyTails from all related liability.

6. Veterinary Emergencies

In an emergency, you authorize KurlyTails to seek veterinary care for your pet at your expense. Post-grooming veterinary care must be reported to us within 48 hours. Any reimbursement is at our sole discretion.

7. Aggression

You must disclose all aggressive tendencies or bite history. Muzzles may be used when necessary. KurlyTails may refuse or stop services at any time. You are financially liable for any injuries your pet causes to staff or other animals per N.C. Gen. Stat. Ch. 67.

8. Parasites

If parasites are found, your pet will be treated and you may be charged up to $50. If lice are found, services will stop immediately.

9. Cancellations & No-Shows

Cancellations require 24 hours notice. No-shows and same-day cancellations may incur a fee of up to $20. Arriving more than 15 minutes late may result in appointment forfeiture.

10. Photo Consent

You grant KurlyTails permission to photograph your pet and use images for marketing purposes including social media. Notify us in writing before your appointment if you do not consent.

11. Limitation of Liability — North Carolina

This agreement is governed by North Carolina law. To the fullest extent permitted, KurlyTails shall not be liable except in cases of gross negligence. Under N.C. Gen. Stat. Ch. 67, pets are personal property and damages may be limited to fair market value.

Vaccinations

All pets must be current on Rabies vaccination. Proof of vaccination must be provided at time of service. Pets without documentation will be turned away and may be charged a cancellation fee.

Behavior

You are responsible for your pet's behavior. You must disclose any history of biting or aggression. KurlyTails may apply handling fees or refuse services at any time and without notice.

Senior Pets & Pre-existing Conditions

Senior pets and pets with health conditions are groomed for comfort and cleanliness. KurlyTails is not responsible for pre-existing conditions or conditions aggravated by the grooming process. Please inform us of all known conditions.

Accidents & Medical Issues

Grooming equipment is sharp and accidents can occasionally occur. You authorize KurlyTails to seek emergency veterinary care at your expense. We will contact you first whenever possible. All veterinary expenses are the owner's responsibility.

Parasites

If your pet has fleas or ticks, notify us before your appointment. A treatment fee starting at $15 will apply. We use natural products only — no pesticide dips or sprays.

Mat Removal

Matted coats require extra attention and may result in a shave-down. A de-matting charge will apply based on time required. Aftereffects may include itchiness, redness, or changes in coat regrowth. KurlyTails is not liable for these outcomes.

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

24 hours notice required for cancellations. No-shows or same-day cancellations may result in a fee equal to 50% of the service price. Repeat occurrences may require prepayment to book future appointments.

Late Arrival & Pickup

Arriving 15 minutes late incurs a $10 late fee. Arriving 25 minutes late is treated as a no-show. Late pickup after closing incurs a $50 kennel fee. Please pick up your pet within 30 minutes of receiving our completion call.

Behavior / Special Handling Fees

If your pet requires additional groomers or special handling due to behavioral issues, a handling fee may be applied. You are solely responsible for any damages caused by your pet's behavior.

Visual Release

Photos and videos taken during your pet's visit may be used by KurlyTails for marketing, advertising, and social media purposes.
